It's been a while since I actually sat down and wrote a legitimate update on how I've been doing with my band.
After the last fill, I definitely feel a difference with eating. I get full much quicker and have to chew my food to a very thin consistency before swallowing. I was beginning to think that I'd be able to eat big bites and that all of the "chewing" stories were fables - sure enough, my first real meal after the third fill was a nightmare. I definitely didn't chew my food enough causing the most uncomfortable sensation in my upper stomach. After a few minutes, the food eventually passed and I was able to take another bite. I thought I had learned my lesson but the same thing has continued to happen over the past few weeks. From what I know, this means my bites are too big and I am not chewing enough. I've been trying to make a conscious effort to reduce bite sizes and pay more attention to the consistency of my food before I swallow. As far as I am concerned, this is just a part of the process that I need to get used to.
The great news is that I have been buying some smaller clothes. Since I'm not working, I'm really only focusing on casual wear. I'm on my second new pair of jeans (YAY!) and have gone down one size in tops. Although the tops are a little tight, they'll fit better in a few weeks.
I've also started going to the gym (ok, so yesterday was my first day), but I am trying to stay motivated to go exercise so that my flab turns into fab! For now, I am focusing on cardio only but I hope to start taking a few classes next week. I love yoga and have been thinking that I could do 30 minutes cardio and a one hour class following the cardio. Thoughts?
So that's about it for now. I am going to Dallas to see my family tomorrow. I always get nervous about traveling because I am never too sure how easy it will be to stick to my "routine". However, I know I can do it...AND I WILL!
